First of all do you have this same problem with Miltion Grimm? He is a headmaster of what is probably the only school in the Land of Ever After. He also uses his position in the community to lie and create fear in not only his young impressionable students, but also the whole kingdom. There has also been times where he has gotten a little bit uncomfortably close to a few of his students.
But to your question, no not at all. Girls come in all different personalities not just the nice ones. I think Mattel is doing a wonderful job at giving such great characterization to the girls. Duchess has ever right to be bitter and angry. How she goes about dealing with her issues isn’t right, but they also make it clear that Duchess isn’t being a good person. In time, the series may even have a breakthrough moment for her where she acknowledges all her wrong doings and tries to be a better person.
As for Sparrow, it’s very typical for girls shows to not give boys that great of characterization. Unless, they are in a relationship. If you read the books/diaries though you’ll see that Sparrow gets a little bit more love. He isn’t as much of a lame character as the webisodes suggest. He is even the leader of his bad, The Merry Men.
Overall, there is a very poor translation from the books/diaries to the webisodes. Which I blame for so much of the misunderstandings of the characters actions. They try and take elements from the diaries/books, but since its only a 3 or so minute webisode they cut things down really poorly sometimes. If you haven’t read everything I suggest you do. It’ll help you see more of the characters motivations and intentions.
